Horn-bone handicrafts are majorly made in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh. The making of horn and bone crafts involves a series of elaborate steps including carving out the desired shape and size, soaking the horn/bone in water, heating it to a specific temperature for softening, and smoothening the surface, then carving out the designs with blades. Multiple steps of polishing are done to get a smooth and shiny surface.
